Jessica Semenoff is a muralist, painter, and printmaker whose work brings the beauty of nature to life in a modern and whimsical way. Known for her aesthetic depictions of local flora and fauna, Semenoff’s murals celebrate the native plants of each region she works in, creating art that feels deeply rooted in its environment. Her work often explores themes of sustainability, critiquing the flawed landfill and recycling programs, and raising awareness about the ongoing climate crisis.
With a unique blend of formal training and self-taught artistry, Semenoff holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing with a minor in Visual Arts from the University of Calgary. Currently, Semenoff lives and works in Calgary, Alberta, however grew up in the Village of Warfield, a small town in British Columbia. That is where she developed a deep connection with the environment.
Semenoff’s collaborative approach makes her a sought-after partner for businesses, community associations, and city organizations. Her commercial clients include YETI, Sport Chek, Gong Cha, and the University of Calgary, among others. Semenoff’s public works can be found throughout Calgary and in surrounding communities like Red Deer, Lethbridge, and Sylvan Lake. Beyond Alberta, her murals can be found in towns in British Columbia, including Fernie, Kimberley, and Trail. Internationally, Semenoff’s public artwork has reached Memphis Tennessee, for the Paint Memphis festival, and Puerto Escondido, Mexico, during the OLA Artist Residency.
Since beginning her professional mural career in 2020, Semenoff has completed large-scale projects spanning over 1,000 square feet. With over 60 murals under her belt, Semenoff brings extensive experience and professionalism to every project. Whether transforming walls or enhancing spaces, Semenoff’s work reflects her passion for the environment and infuses a sense of place into every piece she creates.
